The violin and cello parts are beautifully balanced in this arrangement of Down by the Salley Gardens, with melodic lines for both and strong supportive bass function. Double stops are used with intention, always in comfortable 1st and 3rd positions for easy flow. The double and triple stops during the second half fill out the sound, providing a special fulness to the music that sounds more than 2 players.
